Happy Thursday my friends… Today’s project is a Turtle Friends, Spiral Dye birthday card that is perfect for kids. This card has been bouncing around my stamp room for some time, and I’m happy to share it with you today. On a day where there is NO ONE in my house except for me until 4:45 this afternoon! Why? It’s the first day of school. Woohoo! Let’s have a look at today’s card, and a bit of a look forward at other things.
Our project today was created by Moira Sands, and she combined the Turtle Friends and Spiral Dye stamps to create this fun card. The colours on the card are Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent, which work so well together to create a monochromatic card. Our turtle is adorable!
The phrases on the card are also in the Turtle Friends stamp set, and Moira used her Stamparatus to line them up perfectly on the cardstock. This is a 2-step stamp set, which allows you to stamp your turtle in different colours, without all of the fuss of markers.
For the Spiral dye background, simply stamp one colour onto the cardstock, rotate the stamp 180 degrees, and stamp it again in a different colour. Super easy with a great overall effect. My daughter snatched a Spiral Dye card in a different colour scheme from my birthday box last night to give to a friend. It’s a really versatile stamp.
I know this is a quick post, because I really want to add something to my blog after stepping away from a few days. The last couple of weeks have been stressful and exhausting. To the point where all I have done is sat in my comfy chair, reading (which is not a bad thing.) Yesterday I went outside with my laptop to try and kickstart my brain again and get back into the groove. I’m still not there, but this is a start. I have A LOT of work to do before the Stampin’ Extravaganza event this Sunday.
So, as always, thanks for your patience while I switch gears back to cardmaking and scrapbooking. I have lots in my head, that I need to get down onto cardstock!
