Happy Monday! Today’s project is a cute You’re Amazing Counting Sheep card, for someone who is absolutely amazing. I have a few people in my life that have earned this card recently, and I may have to pop it into the mail soon. Cards should be shared with your friends.
This is final Counting Sheep card that I made last week. It too has some of the Pattern Party 12×12 Designer Series Paper, but I have chosen two of lighter tones this time. Pool Party and Blushing Bride are the dominant colours, and both look fantastic against the black cardstock. I have added the colour chip below to my online resources, so you can easily find it again when you’re looking for a bit of inspiration. As the card itself opens from the top, the card base is Basic White Thick cardstock. It is rapidly becoming my go-to paper when I need a sturdy base for my project. The Blushing Bride and Basic Black cardstock rectangles have been adhered directly to the base.
Before gluing the Pool Party DSP to the card, wrap pieces of Pool Party Sheer Ribbon & Faux Linen Ribbon (Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack) to the DSP. Both were cut on an angle on one end, and wrapped around the back on the side.
I added only a little colour to the sheep, found in the Counting Sheep stamp set, because it has been mounted on embossed black cardstock. The Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder, used after the circle was cut, gives it a nice texture without being over the top. Our embossing folders are fantastic, but I appreciate the ones that have smaller patterns. They work well in certain situations that larger patterns do not.
The last element on the card is the sentiment. Opting to cut it in half made it easier to add to the card, without the weight of a larger piece of cardstock.
