Stampin’ Up! Festive Foliage Art on a Wall Card

Happy Friday everyone. Today’s Stampin’ Up! Festive Foliage card has what I’m calling an ‘art on a wall’ feel to it. More details below, but before I go there, I just want to say thank you for continuing to pop by and see what I’ve been up to. It’s only December 10th, and this holiday season seems to be far worse work-wise than those of the past few years. It means that my stamping has taken a back seat, at a time in the year where I mentally need it. I’m going to keep blogging when I’m able, and will be fully back after the holidays are over. But… you don’t need to hear the details, so let’s get to the card!

In line with my message above, I’m going to try and keep my posts a bit shorter. Maybe I’ll get more of them done! So… why am I calling this ‘art on a wall’? Essentially, I didn’t like all of the colouring on the larger piece of cardstock, so I chopped it down into a square. Once I had the square, I felt that it needed something behind it, but also that it looked like a piece of art. I added a piece of the light Silver Foil from the Silver Foil 12″x12″ Specialty Pack in the Holiday Mini to serve as a frame.

Popping the Festive Foliage image up with Stampin’ Dimensionals, gives you the impression that it’s actually in a frame. Popping the foil off of the card with Dimensionals makes it look like it’s hanging on a wall.

The final touch is adding the very short sentiment from Inspired Thoughts, embossed directly below the right corner of the frame. In my view (and you may totally disagree with me!), it’s the little card that gives you details about the artist as well as the name of the piece.
