Peaceful Deer Card with Gold Accents

Happy Monday! Today’s project is a pretty Peaceful Deer card, with gold accents. Every once in awhile I like to create a project that has a bit more oomph to it, and this card has it. I try to post cards that are easy to recreate with just a bit of extra effort. Stamping something like this, especially if you’re not using a sketch, really stretches your creativity. Let’s have a closer look.

The colour combination for the card is found in the Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper (Annual Catalogue). I am using so much of this paper for this year’s card designs, because I love it. I think that it’s my favourite paper of all that we released this year. Don’t forget that you can find many different Colour Chips here.

The base is Crumb Cake, with snowflake stamping in the same colour. There’s no set ‘pattern’ for the stamping, but it looks good with a bit more versus a bit less. I found that after I my deer was ready, I could position the stamping for the appropriate coverage.

Embossing and punching the deer creates a fast element to add to the card. I’m pleased that the Deer Builder Punch is in this year’s catalogue, because you’re not pulling out your die cutting machine to make the one element. You can emboss a whole bunch of deer at once, and then punch them all out.

The bottom layer of Designer Series Paper is Sahara Sand, but you don’t notice the difference on the card. A thin, torn piece of DSP was added overtop. You’ll notice that the Cherry Cobbler/Gold ribbon is thinner than what is on the roll. I cut it in half, and glued down one piece.

Evening Evergreen ink was used for the Peaceful Deer phrase, and I hand trimmed it. Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals provide the lift so that it pops off of the card. The final step for the card front is to add three Gilded Gems. The ribbon, gems & embossing all give you great gold accents on this project. I also added one stamped deer to the inside of the card.
