Stampin’ Up! Peekaboo Farm Meets Picture This

Happy Thursday! Today’s project has three cute animals, peeking out of a bunch of circles. Peekaboo Farm and the Picture This dies make it all happen. Before we look at the card, I need to let you know that tomorrow is the beginning of Double Flamingos Weekend! Collect flamingos and earn free product!

We’ll start by looking at the dies in the Picture This set. There are only two of them, but they’re both large and designed to fill the front of a regular 5-1/2″ x 11″ card. Both have stitching on the inside and outside of circles/rectangles which is nice because you can use both the main frame and the pieces that it cuts. Nothing goes to waste! They are large metal dies, so they are a bit more expensive, but you can use these on projects for years to come because they won’t go out of style.

For this card, die cut your large piece of cardstock for the front before you do anything else. Having it on your table gives you the freedom to mix and match images and paper until you are pleased with the layout.

I highly suggest that you stamp the images you want to die cut on scrap paper, and cut them out one at a time with the die. You are far less likely to make a mistake by having something shift, and it’s much easier to line everything up.

For these Peekaboo Farm animals, stamp the hooves for each a second time on scrap paper. These will be the ones that you colour and fussy cut for the front of the card.

Attach the main die cut to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Glue the critters to the inside of each circle. Attach your hooves to the front, overtop of the ones on the main image on the card. I found this easy to do this with a dab of Multipurpose Adhesive.

Finally, the phrases in the Peekaboo Farm set are too big to use on this card. I opted to emboss the “hey” from Best Year onto a piece of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, and then add it to the card. I rather like this DSP against the Real Red background of the card.
