Stampin’ Up! Peekaboo Farm Magic Card

Happy Friday! It’s snowing here in Brooklin, which is funny because we had the A/C on earlier this week. Today’s Peekaboo Farm Magic Card is fun, and super cute. Except that on last night’s Facebook Live, I had a major FAIL when I was making it. Head over to Facebook to see exactly what went wrong.

I have a pile of photos to post this morning, and am starting with the card closed, and open.

The magic in this interactive card is that the black and white sheep mysteriously becomes a coloured sheep when the tab is pulled up. When it works, it’s fabulous. When it doesn’t, well it’s just not as much fun.

This one works, although I do find that it seems to be stiffer than it should be, even though I followed the directions of the YouTube video that I watched. My first attempt at making this card was last weekend, and I ended up pulling it completely apart because it really didn’t work well. Here’s a couple of close-ups of the card.

There are some elements on this card that I do want to point out. I did add a bit of ‘stitching’ around the edge with the Stitched Whimsy dies. I haven’t used these enough on my projects, but I love the effect once used. You can also see a couple of the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels, in Pale Papaya. At the rate I’m going, I’m going to run out of this colour because I have been using them quite a bit.

The other element that I want to point out is the scalloped rectangle. You can find it in the Scalloped Contours die set, which I’ll show off to you a bit later. I’m still feeling wounded from my massive Facebook fail last night. That and we’ve been busy enough over the past week and a half dealing with Covid in my house, that I didn’t get around to adding the full set of die cuts onto a template.

As sad as I am that this card does not work as well as I’d like it to, I’m sharing this to remind you that every mistake can be corrected, and that demonstrators make mistakes too. We are NOT perfect stampers all of the time. I will make this card again, updating the design so that I know it will work when you make it. Interactive cards can be finicky at times.

Two reminders for today…

Stampin’ Extravaganza, our online Facebook event begins at 9:00am TOMORROW although we do have a few exciting things posting tonight. If you haven’t yet requested admission to the group, click here. Canadians only, and please no demonstrators.

Finally, Monday is the LAST day that you can join the Stampin’ Up! Family and get an extra $41 of product in your Starter Kit. We have a super-friendly community of stampers, and I’d love it if you joined our group. Click here for details.

Thanks for stopping by today. Our Peekaboo Farm Magic card may not have worked the way we’d like it to, but it will be back in improved form. Next week’s Give it a Whirl cards all work tremendously well, and are incredibly easy to make. Trust me. I’ve made 5 of them already. Until tomorrow, when I have the bonus Peekaboo Farm post ready to go, Happy Stamping!
