Stampin’ Up! Back to Basics with Peekaboo Farm

Happy Wednesday! Today we’re going Back to Basics with Peekaboo Farm. Today’s card is a bit more complex because of the elements that I have added. It’s the card design itself that I’m highlighting. Let’s have a look.

Isn’t this horse adorable? I keep using this word in relation with this stamp set, because I’m in love with the animals. I sat down last Friday night to stamp and colour a bunch of the critters. As I mentioned on Monday, I coloured everything with Stampin’ Blends this week – it was very relaxing! Anyhow, I sent a photo to the other members of my upline’s leadership team, because I had to share in their cuteness! All cards were then finished on Saturday, but this set has already become a favourite of mine this spring.

The basic layout for this project is simple:

  • large image near the top centre of the card
  • small sentiment immediately below to the right
  • add 2-3 rhinestones, dots, gems… whatever strikes your fancy

Do not restrict yourself to a rectangle. I usually make these types of card with squares, and a circle would easily look good as well. The rectangle works on this card because of the size of the horse and wall. Choose a different animal and cut off some of the wall bottom, and you can use a square.

Three sets of Stampin’ Blends were used on the horse – Crumb Cake, Smoky Slate, and the Bronze/Ivory Combo pack. When deciding on the colour combination, I pulled out my Colour Coach (print your copy here). The Colour Chip is below, and I think that these colours look really good together.

Newsletter subscribers will receive the full instructions for this card in their email later this afternoon. Tips on the embossing folder and the colouring of the Opal Rounds will be included. If you’re not on my customer newsletter list, please click HERE to add your email address. I send 3-4 a month, unless something really noteworthy needs to be sent right away. Here’s one last look at the card.

Thanks for stopping by today. Today’s Back to Basics with Peekaboo Farm project is super cute, and fun to send to someone that you haven’t seen in awhile. I never had a chance to post yesterday’s project on Facebook, because I have WAY too many family related balls in the air at the moment. Please check my Facebook page for the extra project, because I’ll be prepping for Saturday’s Facebook Stampin’ Extravaganza Event! If you’re one of my customers, make sure you request admission so that you can see all of the samples and presentations that we have for you. I’ll definitely be back here tomorrow, and on Facebook at 7:30pm tomorrow night. I’ve got an adorable sheep card to show you. Until then, Happy Stamping!
