Stampin’ Up! Metallic Beautiful World Card

Today’s project is an eye-catching metallic card created with the Beautiful World stamp set and the World Map dies. I meant to post this yesterday, however the impending lockdown in Ontario derailed my plans. More on that below.

Our card today was CASE’d from one created by Amy Koenders. It definitely has a masculine vibe to it, and would be a great card to give someone who is retiring from their career. It’s also quite easy to make.

The World of Good Designer Series Paper, as well as the other elements in this suite, have brass as their metallic ‘colour’. I’m not a brass person, by any means, preferring silver for everything. That’s what happens when you’re blond (now mostly white), with really fair skin. Silver & white gold are better against my skin tone. Anyhoo, I digress. I opted to use Copper Foil for the globes, and it looks really good against the cardstock.

*Tip* The phrase on the card was stamped before it was sent through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine in the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder. You can choose whether you’d like the positive (lots of texture) or negative (flatter) side of the paper to be on the card front. My card has the negative side facing up. I would think that it’s easier to read, but didn’t try embossing the cardstock so that the main texture was on the front, so I honestly don’t know. Regardless, it’s easier to adhere this to your card with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

Retiring items on today’s project:

  • Beautiful World stamps
  • World Map Dies
  • Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder
  • 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots

At this point I am encouraging you to look through the Last Chance List, to ensure that you have everything that you love before it retires on May 3rd.

Don’t forget to head over to then Wendy’s Little Inklings Facebook Page at 7:30pm EDT for this week’s Facebook on the Fly Live demonstration. This week I’m creating a quick Fun Fold card using the World of Good Suite of products. It’s an easy card to make – the most difficult part is gluing it all together!

Thanks for stopping by today! It’s Day 1 of Ontario’s latest (and hopefully last) lockdown, and the weather is gorgeous. I was at work for part of yesterday, stopping at the post office on the way, and picking up groceries and dinner on the way home. By the time I was finished, I was dead tired. The stress of this week caught up to me and I lounged on the couch watching whatever my husband was watching, playing games and reading on my iPad. And that’s okay. All it means is that I didn’t write my blog post yesterday or newsletter. Watch for the latter in a bit because it’s new catalogue time, and the books for my clients should be hitting the porch today! SO exciting.

If you have questions about today’s Metallic Beautiful World card, or anything else stamping related, please let me know. You can always e-mail if you have any questions. I will return tomorrow with this week’s Flamingo Friday post. It’s a pink one! Until tomorrow, Happy Stamping!
