Welcome back to Card Swap Thursday! I hope that you’re staying warm in the polar vortex that sits over a good chunk of North America. As I look out the window at all of the snow, I’m dreaming of spring flowers. Today’s Lasting Lily Sympathy card features a lovely pair of flowers, and was received from Diana Langham.
Lasting Lily is a Level 2 Sale-a-Bration stamp set, and can be earned for FREE with a $120 order (before tax/shipping).
Diana has stamped the lilies with Berry Burst, and the stems with Old Olive ink. There are variations in the shading on the flower, which is NOT caused by poor stamping. Lasting Lily is a Distinctive stamp set, which means that you can get depth in your stamping without having to stamp off some ink, or use two stamps. Here’s a close-up of the images on the card.
You can really see the change in ink pattern on the stamped images. It’s amazing to think that only one stamp was used!
The close-up photo also allows us to see the background embossing, which Diana did after she stamped the lilies. The Subtle 3D Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder (always a mouthful!) is fantastic for adding a bit of texture to your background.
*Tip* Add texture to your card without taking away from the main image by using an embossing folder. Choose one with a small repeating pattern.
