Happy Thursday! Today I’m sharing a small 3×3 floral card, made with the Sweet as a Peach bundle. We (and I mean the internet) have made SO many cards with the peach stamps and dies in the bundle, that it’s difficult to find a project that isn’t full of peaches. So, I created something pretty with flowers. Let’s take a peek.
Within the bundle, there are flower stamps and dies that match the long branches and leaves stamp. There is also a thin die that cuts out a lovely branch, along with several dies that simply cut small flowers. My original thought was to create two cards – one with stamps and one with just dies, but decided to stick with the one above to avoid a time crunch.
As I mentioned, this card is 3″x3″ and will fit inside one of our adorable Basic White 3″x3″ envelopes. It’s far too small to be mailed, but can be tucked inside of a gift bag or given to a friend over coffee.
The colour scheme for this card would work well for many different floral cards. I used Stampin’ Write Markers to colour the branches and leaves, because it allowed me to show both on the card, with a separation of colours. You know which are the branches and which are the leaves. Normally I’m fine with just stamping the entire image in green, but when it’s part of the card’s focal point, I’m a bit pickier. I have added the Colour Chip to the reference page for your scrolling convenience when you’re stuck for a colour scheme.
There is a stamp in the set meant for stamping the centres of these flowers. Trust me when I say that it’s super easy to add stamp these. A small ‘hello’ stamp, part of the Sweet as a Peach set, is a good size for this small card. You really can’t add anything that’s too big. Two small pearls complete the card. Why only two when we also tell you that odd numbers are best? Because there are already 3 flowers, and adding two pearls keep the odd number of elements intact on the project.
