Stampin’ Up! Beauty of Friendship Spring Card Idea

Happy Friday! Today’s card is one that I created for a team sketch challenge last week. This Beauty of Friendship spring themed card reminds me of cherry blossoms. I was inspired by a neighbour’s tree across the street.

Today’s colour combination is very bright, and the Colour Chip reflects that. The only colour not on the chip is the Soft Suede that was used to stamp the tree trunks.

Stamping the leaves is a very easy thing to do because they are photopolymer stamps. Polished Pink is the colour on the bottom layer, while Merry Merlot is the colour on top for the accents. Even though the pink is underneath, you can see the difference in the stamp because the left side has darker tones, while the right is more see through. The stamp set isn’t classified as DistINKtive, but it certainly has pieces that may be.

I just love this Designer Series Paper pattern. It is very cloud-like and looks so pretty against the trees. If I could have a whole pack of paper with this pattern, I’d be in heaven. The ‘grass’ was cut with the curvy die from the Beautiful Trees set. I embossed the main piece with the new dot folder in the Checks & Dots Embossing Folder set. After I cut it, I went to mount it on the card and realized that I had cut too much off on the left side. How did I fix it? I embossed the other piece of cardstock that I had cut off when creating the hill, deliberately embossing it so that it would be reverse of the pattern already on the card.

A few of the new 2021-2023 In Color Jewels were added – in Polished Pink of course. I’m such of fan of using small embellishments like this to finish off a project. These give us a nice twinkle.

Don’t forget that you can purchase the Beauty of the Earth stamp set and Beautiful Trees dies separately, or purchase them together as a bundle to save 10%. You could also purchase the entire suite all at once using a single item number ($100.25 – 155843). The full supply list for this card can be found at the bottom of the post. Thanks for stopping by today. Our Beauty of Friendship spring card is the last of our projects for this week, and I think that we’re going out with a bang. I really like this card. A lot. I’ll be back here on Monday, for our CASE the Catalogue Monday. I’m not telling you which bundle I’m showcasing, but let’s just say that we’re heading towards a bit of cute. Until then, Happy Stamping!
