Textures & Frames Thank You Card Idea

Happy Wednesday! Thank you cards are always appreciated. Today’s Textures & Frames thank you card is feminine, and would be lovely to send to someone special. This is the last of the cards that I made with the stamp set, available for free during Sale-a-bration. There’s only 15 days left until it enters the vault.

Creating this card isn’t difficult, it just requires a few more steps than you may be used to. Oh, and a bit of fussy-cutting as well. The first step is to stamp three swooshy rectangles from the stamp set onto a piece of Basic White cardstock. The Colour Chip for this card is below, so that you’re not trying to remember exactly which colours appear on this card. Don’t forget to bookmark the Colour Chip page so that you easily have access to all of the Chips that I have used on my projects.

After stamping the rectangles, emboss the piece with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. It’s part of the Harvest Meadow Suite, but you can use it with so many different styles of cards. Roughing up the sides with a pair of scissors adds to the shabby chic look of the card.

The ‘Thank You’ sentiment is in the Sweet Strawberry stamp set. I opted to stamp it in black, and then fussy cut the edges so that I wasn’t covering up too much of colourful rectangles.

Tying the bow was by far the most difficult part of this card. That’s only because my fingers weren’t cooperating and kept trying to forget the piece of Baker’s Twine while I was working. The Blushing Bride 3/8″ Grosgrain Ribbon is fluffy on both sides, and the ribbon is really lovely. I cut it in half, added a piece of white twine, and then tied the three layers together. It is attached to the card with a glue dot.

Finally, the very last thing to add once everything has been glued on, is the 3 Elegant Faceted Gems. I opted for 3 clear gems, but could have used 3 of the Mint Macaron Genial Gems instead. (Sadly, this only occurred to me now, as I was double-checking the gems I used, and saw these immediately above in the catalogue.)

Thanks for stopping by today. I wasn’t sure whether I was going to like the finished Textures & Frames thank you card after my tinkering, but the more I look at it, the more I do. As you all know, I’m not a big subtles/feminine kind of cardmaker. However, it’s important to recognize that others are, and I know that one of my friends will love this. Don’t forget to stop by Facebook tomorrow at 7:30 pm EDT (Thursday) for our weekly Facebook Live chat. If you have questions before then, please add a comment or drop me a quick e-mail and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Happy Stamping!
