This week we are focusing on the Stampin’ Up! Rustic Retreat and Pattern Play stamp sets which are retiring at the beginning of May. It’s a great stamp set for masculine cards, although I do have one this week which has a feminine feel to it. Let’s have a look at today’s card.
I made this card for a Masculine Card Tutorial Group in February. The tutorial will be included in this week’s customer newsletter. The line image at the top of the card is found in the Pattern Play stamp set. It’s a good set for scrapbookers as well as cardmakers as it has great patterns for backgrounds or focal elements.
I really like the cabin image in the Rustic Retreat stamp set, and have used the Happy Birthday sentiment on a lot of different birthday cards. There is also a Christmas phrase in this set, and we used it along with the cabin on a card at our last big Christmas stamping event. It seems like this was SO long ago, even though it was Christmas 2019.
I’m really sad that the Braided Linen Trim on this card is retiring because I use it A LOT. To the point where I may need to add an extra roll to list simply because I use it on my scrapbook pages. You can pull it apart, which widens the fibres, and gives your projects a rustic look. I love it.
