Stampin’ Up! Rainbow of Happiness Card Idea

Happy Friday! Today’s project is a Rainbow of Happiness card, direct from the Jan-June Mini Catalogue. This was the first card that I made after the holiday celebrations (and my nasty cold) had subsided. It has been CASE’d from page 18 of the catalogue, and is a great card for a gloomy day. Scroll down for the tutorial download link, but first let’s have a look at the card.

I will say that there’s a *bit* of work involved to recreate this card, and it take some time. It’s well worth it though, because although there are a few moving parts, it’s easy to put together. You just need a bit of time and patience to line everything up.

The Rainbow of Happiness Bundle is a good one for the spring and summer because although the dies and stamps work together, you can use each set on its own, or in combination with other things in your collection. This project uses both, and it’s going onto the pile of cards that *need* to go into the mail. I never sent my Christmas cards this year, so I’m going to pop a bunch out before the end of the month. People need bright cards in the winter.

This card is smaller than our typical projects, because it’s 5″ x 3-1/2″. I cut the cardstock to this size, and will use a regular envelope for it. However, we do have notecards with envelopes available in the catalogue, and they work well as quick card bases.

Die cutting the rainbows is really easy, because one die cuts four arches. You can cut 3-4 different colours of cardstock, and end up with 3-4 sets of rainbows. Really fast and easy, which I really like when I’m crafting. I now have a small container filled with different colours and sizes of arches, and I’ll use them!

One interesting tidbit… there is only metallic element on this card. I always mention to stampers that if you have one, you should have a second. My guess is that because of the size of the border, you don’t need a second. It also looks good against the Daffodil Delight.

As I mentioned a couple of days ago, it was a challenging holiday this year, between Covid and my ‘other’ work. I did catch a cold, which reared its head on Boxing Day. You’d think that spending the next 5 days in the basement, 10 feet from my craft room, would be inspiring. Nope. It took a bit of time to get back on my feet, and I’m realizing exactly how far behind I am. Which is why my first January newsletter isn’t finished! Watch for it next week. I promise it will pop into your inbox.

Thanks for stopping by! My If you have questions about today’s Rainbow of Happiness card, or anything else, drop me a quick e-mail and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
