Rainbow of Happiness Catalogue CASE

Happy Monday! Today’s project is another Stampin’ Up! Rainbow of Happiness Card, CASE’d from the January-June Mini Catalogue. I find that when you’re creatively stuck, CASEing a card is a great boost to get you started. I certainly needed that after Christmas! Scroll down for a downloadable tutorial, but first let’s have a look at today’s card.

This card does require some patience, because there is a lot of die cutting. I have added the photo of the bundle below, and you can see that one die serves as a rainbow topped rectangle. It is good for adding a sentiment on the front of the card, as you can see in the photo above.

You need to cut one full image, and then 9 of the rainbows. The easiest and quickest way to do this is to cut them all from a 1″ strip of Basic White cardstock. You can then trim the bottom of the arches to the size that you need. You can do the same with the Petal Pink, Pool Party, Misty Moonlight and Bumblebee.

Before gluing these down, stamp a few hearts randomnly over the card front. It adds a cute element to an already wonderful card.

The next task that requires a bit of patience is the gluing of the rainbows to the card front. I used the Multipurpose Liquid Glue sparingly on the back of the white arches. Once they were on the card, I carefully added a bit of liquid glue to the inside of the rainbow, and pressed the colour arches in.

For the rainbow with the sentiment below, a piece of copy paper was glued to the back of the white arches, and then the colours were pressed in. This is a necessary step because the entire panel is popped up with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Finally, die cut two clouds and adhere them with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. I meant to use some Wink of Stella on these, but clearly forgot. I’ll do that before the card goes into the mail. The original card has Sparkle and Shine Sequins glued to the front, but I don’t have these in my collection of embellishments. Instead, I added some of the now-retired sequins from the last Mini Catalogue.
