Today’s project is a Heartfelt Wishes card, created with my favourite Flamingo Dies. This card has a different layout than the others that I have posted so far. Variety is definitely good because it gets a tad ho hum when you repeatedly create with the same layout.
Today’s flamingo was die cut from Blushing Bride cardstock, and the top wing was sponged around the edges with Flirty Flamingo ink. The two wings were layered on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Isn’t he pretty?
The flamingo was created before the card was, as part of my larger bird cardstock experiment. Choosing the colours wasn’t difficult as I stayed within the Subtles colour family. Basic White cardstock forms the base of the card. A piece of Pear Pizzazz was cut to fit the card base and circle in the card base was cut with the largest circle in the Layering Circles die set. You can see a bit of an impression around the edge, but it’s not really visible when you look at the card because it’s hidden behind the stamping.
As the die cut circle is quite close to the bottom edge of the card, it’s fairly easy to line up the water and plants with the circle. The flower stamp from Friendly Flamingo does have a slight curve to it, that fits the edge of the circle quite well. As they’re photopolymer, you can see the edge of the image when stamping down the one beside it.
I couldn’t decide on a sentiment for this card. There are so many “thank you” and “hello” cards in my box, and I wanted something a bit different. Times are brightening up, and so are our cards. This Heartfelt Wishes card was created with the Well Wishes stamp set and Well Said dies, with the die cut popped up using a piece of a Foam Adhesive Sheet. I think it works well with the flamingo.
