Good morning happy stampers! I held my Flamingo Frenzy card classes yesterday, and the ladies fell in LOVE with the cards. They’re fun, summery, and full of pink! I’ll be sharing them over the next three Flamingo Fridays, so that you can get your dose of flamingo fun as well. Although my flamingo stamp collection is… sizeable, I opted to stick with a tried and true Stampin’ Up! Fabulous Flamingo card with a dose of pink.
Today’s card is modeled after one originally stamped by Paula Dobson. It’s effectively a one-layer card, because all of the main stamping is one piece of Whisper White cardstock. The panel has been cut and mounted, but you could easily stamp it all on a card base. A bit of 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon has been added, along with the sentiment from Lemon Zest. This is a fun stamp set to use. Not only can you make summery cards, but the sentiment sizes and fonts work really well on different projects. It’s also nice that there are sentiments for the outside and inside of a card.
A funny thing happened while I was making this card. I opened my Pool Party inkpad, and the piece of plastic that holds the ink in the case went flying. I didn’t realize this but the foam is attached to a form fit plastic insert, and the entire thing is glued into the case. I fired up my glue gun, promptly forgot about it until 4 hours later (yes, my house is still standing) and glued it back in. No harm, no foul. Needless to say I didn’t tell my husband about the glue gun!
