Good morning stampers! Today I have a ridiculously simple Perfectly Plaid note card to share. It even comes with it’s own custom envelope! Let’s have a look.
There are two things that make this card super simple to stamp. The first is that the card base is one of our pre-cut note cards. It is smaller than what we normally create (5″ x 3-1/2″), but they arrive already scored, with envelopes to match!
Using only one colour on the card also cuts down on its complexity. I chose to use Night of Navy ink with two stamps – one for the sentiment, and the other for the tree. Stamp the plaid tree on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, and punch it out. Adhere it to the card with some dimensionals, and you’re almost good to go.
For the trees on the envelope, ink the stamp and then stamp the image twice – this will give you the lighter/darker contrast. Make sure that the lighter version veers off the card a bit more than the original, so that you don’t get any of those nasty ink lines on your project.
Now, to bump up the bling on your card, you can wrap a bit of silver metallic thread around the tree, and add a few rhinestones. Who doesn’t love a bit of shine?
The secret to adhering the thread to the back of the tree is… tape. It’s not something that I normally recommend, but it is the best solution sometimes. Just make sure that you don’t see it popping out from behind the tree.
