Rainbow of Happiness Banner Card

Happy Tuesday! Today’s project is a fun Rainbow of Happiness Banner Card that I made a couple of weeks ago. It has bright colours, and is easy to make. But first… my posting schedule is Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I’d love to post more often, and I’ll get there soon. However, life happens and yesterday a snowstorm hijacked my day. For those stampers that don’t live anywhere near me, the last time we had this much snow in a day was in 1999.

The sun popped out behind the clouds, just in time to set in the west. It’s super sunny today, but too cold for melting. That will come tomorrow… Enough about snow – on to today’s Rainbow of Happiness Banner Card!

It’s an easy card to make, because you’re cutting and embossing cardstock, and adding three strips of paper to the upper left corner. The card base itself is Bermuda Bay, and there are two 1″ wide strips of Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Series Paper. The third strip is stamped Mango Melody cardstock. I did try stamping on a piece of DSP, but the paper was too busy behind the small phrase.

Attach the two long strips to the Macrame embossed cardstock, but only at the top. By doing this, you can curl the bottoms up just a bit. It helps to give them that ‘banner’ feeling. Adding the ribbon is the next step. I wrapped a small piece around the back of the cardstock, and folded the right side in so that the end is hidden under the Mango Melody Banner.

Once all of these pieces are on the cardstock, glue it to the card base. Add a bit of Designer Series Paper to the inside to finish it off. This is a super bright card, with a colour scheme that gives us a great hit of colour in the winter. Especially when everything is covered in snow! Don’t forget that you can find this Colour Chip, along with many others, in my Colour Chip Resources.
