Kite Delight & Symbols of Fortune Card Idea

Happy Thursday! Today’s project is a Kite Delight Card, with a gorgeous piece of the Symbols of Fortune Designer Series Paper as the background. It’s such pretty paper, and the sheet with the clouds works so well with the kits. Let’s have a look at the card, and you can download a tutorial near the bottom of the post.

Stamping with Memento ink and colouring the kites is the first thing to do when making this card. I chose Soft Succulent and Calypso Coral for the colouring because they both appear in the Symbols of Fortune DSP. Once coloured, simply cut down the sides of kite and add tails made with black Baker’s Twine. The Colour Chip is below, so that you don’t forget the colour scheme. You can always find these in my Colour Chip Resources.

The most difficult part is cutting the cloud sheet of paper found in the Symbols of Fortune Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. Images of cranes are scattered through the paper, and are far too elegant for the images in the stamp set. Having said that, gold foil elements are on one side of each sheet of paper, and it is gorgeous. It is easier to cut the DSP for this project once you have the images of your kites cut and ready for placement on the card.

Stampin’ Up! has given us three good sentiments in the Kite Delight stamp set that can work on birthday or friendship cards. Adding the ‘wishes for a carefree day’ can work with other occasions than birthdays. Once again, it’s a good Covid card for someone that is stressed about the virus and its effects.

This the first Kite Delight card that I have posted, but I have a few more sitting in front of me that I’m eager to share over the coming days. I like to give you a variety of projects, so you won’t see all of them at once. Here are a couple of additional photos of this pretty card.
