Stampin’ Up! Quiet Meadow Back to Basics

Happy Wednesday! I decided today to go back to the basics for this card with the Quiet Meadow stamp set. What do I mean by ‘back to the basics’? When you first begin stamping and cardmaking, there are certain layouts that are easy to replicate, and don’t require quite as much creativity when you first make them. Sometimes simple is best – especially if you are in a bit of a time crunch.

The reason that this layout is a keeper, is that you have 3 identically sized squares on the card. These can be the same image repeated 3 times (like on this card), or you can mix it up a bit. Maybe stamp the same stamp in 3 different colours, or stamp it in different ways on the square. One could be in the centre, one off the edge in a corner, and one off a side edge. You could also take 3 stamps from the same stamp set. There’s no limit to what you add in the boxes – just that they are the same size across the card.

Add a bit of coordinating ribbon immediately below, and a sentiment in the bottom right corner. At that point you are finished. If you want to step the card up a bit, you could stamp and layer the phrase with a punch and a bit of cardstock behind. You could also use a slightly different shape for your squares. Maybe use a scallop edged circle, or a different shape altogether. Just make sure they are all the same size.

On this card, I have stamped the large flower image from the stamp set 3 times, in Pale Papaya ink. I used my Stamparatus to ensure that all were stamped exactly in the centre. Quiet Meadow is a cling stamp set, so you can’t see through the stamp. The Stamparatus makes this so easy.

Each flower has a slightly larger Just Jade square of cardstock behind it. The ribbon is so pretty on this card, and coordinates perfectly. Finally, the phrase was also stamped with Just Jade ink. Adding 5 Opal Rounds to the card gives it a bit of sparkle. I’m seriously loving these, and add them to all kinds of different projects.

The Quiet Meadow Bundle has both the Quiet Meadow stamp set, and the Meadow Dies. Purchase both together for a 10% discount. I have used almost all of the stamps at this point, and most of the dies. I said earlier this week that it’s an easy set to work with, and it really is.
