Happy Wednesday! Today’s project is a Plentiful Plants Houseplant Thank You card. I still haven’t repotted the plants sitting on my front porch, and all of projects this week keeps reminding me of that. Let’s look at today’s card.
This card came to me in a recent card swap from Julie MacIsaac. If you have been following my blog, you have seen some of her wonderful projects on my Sunday Team Flamingo posts. I have tons of team projects to add, but I seem to spend my Sundays at the store. The timing of my shifts are messing up my poor brain, but I have a new planner to help manage stamping, family, house, & bookstore. If you could see it, you’d understand why things sometimes slip through the cracks!
For the second day in a row (3rd if you include the bonus Facebook project I posted on Monday evening), the colour of the base of this card is Evening Evergreen. The pot and plant has been stamped in Just Jade and Gray Granite. The colour scheme has been pulled directly from the colours in the DSP, which is always a good starting point if you’re stuck with colours. I have added the Colour Chip to the Resources Page. Surprisingly, this is the first project of the week that has embossing created from the new Macrame 3D embossing folder. It’s not part of the Bloom Where You’re Planted Suite, which is surprising because it perfectly fits with the Plentiful Plants Bundle.
When I looked at this card again this morning, I was struck by the die cut shape of the cardstock that has the stamped sentiment. Specifically because I didn’t know which set it’s from. Looking through the catalogue, I discovered it’s in the Ornate Frames die set. As you know, I’m not an ornate person. Looking at the die set though, I don’t know how I could have missed this because the non-ornate dies are fabulous for phrases and sentiments.
It looks like I may need to add these to my order in August – when Sale-a-Bration begins! That’s right, for the first time ever we’re having a Sale-a-Bration promotion in the summer. Just wait until you see what’s available… it’s even better than this year’s winter SAB.
