Stampin’ Up! Peekaboo Farm Case the Catalogue Monday

Happy Victoria Day!! I almost forgot that it’s Monday because of the holiday. Never fear… I have a Peekaboo Farm card for Case the Catalogue Monday. It’s super cute!

Isn’t this card adorable??? I didn’t intend on this week being Peekaboo Farm week, but when I sat down to create the cards for this Saturday’s Stampin’ Extravaganza, I quickly fell in love and made 6 cards with this stamp set. Today’s card is notecard sized, with a final size of 5″ x 3-1/2″.

The Peekaboo Farm stamp set can be found on page 66 of the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. I was looking for stamps that would fit inside the openings for the Give it a Whirl dies (which I’m demonstrating at this weekend’s Extravaganza). I had to make a best guess because I didn’t have the dimensions for the large circle or the openings, but decided to give it a shot.

You’ll notice that there are a bunch of animals, along with a section of rock wall in the set. If you look at the top of the wall, you’ll see two gaps in the line. This is where the feet & hooves are stamped. The stamps are photopolymer, so it’s easy to see where they fit, and easy to line up. The wall can also be lined up so that you have repeating sections. A Stamparatus makes this incredibly easy – you’ll see this in detail a bit later this week.

I must mention that every single project this week uses Stampin’ Blends for colouring. You can definitely colour them with Watercolour Pencils, or full on watercolour them. I just happened to have a lot of Blends on my table, and kept reaching for them.

Because of the colouring this card, today’s Colour Chip only has the three main colours of cardstock and ribbon on the card. The ribbon is Early Espresso 1/4″ Faux Suede Trim, which has a dreamy feel to it. It’s so soft, and very pliable. Today’s Colour Chip has been added to the Colour Chip Resource Page.

You may be wondering how I was able to colour the sky with my Blending Brush, without colouring the animals. Masking! I stamped the animals on a sticky note, cut them out and then covered up the stamped/coloured sections of the card. I did the same with the wall. The photos below are what this looked like before the Balmy Blue ink was applied.

It’s a little extra work to complete this step, but absolutely worth it. The only piece that came off in the colouring process was the bird. Instead of adding another bird to cover the one that was there, I just coloured over him because it was blue ink overtop of blue colouring.

After all of the colouring was finished, I added the small pink Loose Flower Flourish, as well as the ribbon and embossed sentiment. There’s a lot going on with this project, but it’s adorable when finished.

Thanks for stopping by today. Today’s Case the Catalogue Monday project with Peekaboo Farm is a lot of fun to make, and very soothing to colour. Find additional projects on page 67 of the catalogue. I have more projects to post this week, but please check my Facebook page because they may not make it here on my blog because I’ll be prepping for Saturday’s Facebook Stampin’ Extravaganza Event! If you’re one of my customers, make sure you request admission so that you can see all of the samples and presentations that we have for you. I’ll definitely be back here on Wednesday with our Back to Basics card for the week. Until then, Happy Stamping!
