Harvest Meadow Scrapbook Layout – 2 pages

Happy Wednesday! I’m in love with today’s Harvest Meadow scrapbook pages, in part because I really like everything in the Harvest Meadow suite, found in the July-December Mini Catalogue. The other part is purely selfish because I love my dog. I’m completely biased, but Ginny is the sweetest golden retriever… ever. Let’s have a closer look at the pages, because there are elements that you can use on any project. Here’s a quick warning… there are a lot of images below!

A couple of things about me… I’m a double-layout kind of scrapbooker, because I like to cram tons of photos onto a page. How do I manage this without all of the pages looking the same? I use scrapbook page layouts that I find on Pinterest, or through a couple of my favourite websites. I’ve mentioned these before, because I use them for cards as well. You can find boards with these on my Pinterest list. Follow me, and you’ll see updates for these (and a whole lot of other things).

Moving on to these pages, the first thing I’ll mention is that the main 12″x12″ cardstock that forms the base is Whisper White cardstock. I still have a bit left, and haven’t yet moved to Basic White. We have these in packs of 12 sheets, and they are a nice paper to use for your pages. Stampin’ Up! also has 12″x12″ assortment packs for each of the colour families, so you do have other options to use for your pages.

Both pages have two patterns of the Harvest Meadow 12″x12″ Designer Series Paper and strips of the Cork 12″x12″ Specialty Paper. The cork is really thin, and is glued to a thin piece of paper, so it’s pliable and not bulky. It’s also easy to glue onto your pages.

We have 3/8″ Diamond Weave Ribbon in the suite, and I have wrapped it around the top and bottom of the pages. I’m going to add a couple of additional glue dots behind the ribbon at the front, to make sure that it doesn’t slide too much when I put them in the book (they’re still on the table in front of me. Below are photos of the entire suite, as well as just the Harvest Meadow paper.

There are also strips in the centre of the pages that were cut from the gorgeous copper paper from the Brushed Metallic 12″x12″ cardstock in the mini catalogue. You can also see it in the photo below as I cut the branch from the paper. For these die cut elements, I added ink to give them a bit of extra dimension. The wheat has been stamped while the old olive stem has ink stippled on top. Calypso Coral, Bumblebee & Old Olive were swirled onto the flower with our Blending Brushes.

The title on the second page was die cut with a retired alphabet. I have a ridiculous number of alphabet stamps, as well as dies and stickers. And… I’m contemplating ordering more stickers from one of my favourite online stores because they have free shipping to Canada through tomorrow. Can I justify this to myself? Of course!

If you look closely at the phrase on the title, and then look at the stamp, you’ll see that I cut part of it off because while it may fit a card, it doesn’t fit the page. The Nature’s Harvest bundle has good phrases and sentiments for thank you and sympathy cards, but clearly I’m not going for that here.

Both sets of flowers were coloured with Stampin’ Blends. The images can be found in the Nature’s Harvest stamp set which is available on its own, or as part of the bundle. It’s easy to cut these out, because the dies in the Harvest dies pack do it for you! I did add another one of the Old Olive set of stalks, and this time I embossed the wheat with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. In my opinion, adding these small details really finishes the page off. It’s also what contributes to the reason it takes me so long to put together a layout. I REALLY need to work faster on these.

Below is the Nature’s Harvest Bundle, with both the stamps and the coordinating dies. Purchase them as a bundle, and save 10%. It has recently become available again as the dies were on backorder because they were so popular!

A couple of final notes… I have added some of the copper Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots to the pages to offset the metallic cardstock. Also, the dates the photos were taken is on the right side of the layout, but I have also added the date the pages were completed. It gives me a sense of accomplishment to see that there, and I’m hoping that some archivist in the family appreciates it many years from now.

Thanks for stopping by today. I’m really behind in my scrapbooking. Like 8 years behind. During our first lockdown last year (we’ve been through three), I printed 2000 photos. Somewhere in the ballpark of 250 were for my daughter, but the rest are ready to scrapbook. I did finish somewhere close to 30 pages, but they were of photos printed LONG ago. You’ll see more pages pop up in the next few months because I really need to get them into books before we go to Disney next spring.

The Harvest Meadow Suite, which includes the Nature’s Harvest bundle and the Harvest Meadow DSP, is a pretty fall suite, and perfect for my Ginny photos. I’ll be back tomorrow with another project that features everything in the suite. Also, don’t forget to stop by Facebook tomorrow (Thursday) at 7:30 pm EDT for our weekly Facebook Live chat. If you have questions before then, please add a comment or drop me a quick e-mail and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Happy Stamping!
