Friendly Hello Mystery Stamping Project

Happy Wednesday! During a recent class, we had a quick Mystery Stamping project, and I shared my Friendly Hello card. It is based on a simple card sketch, and is easy to change up or replicate.

As an aside, Mystery Stamping on Facebook is returning at 7:30pm on Monday, February 28th as a bi-weekly event. I’ll be on vacation later in the spring, so I’m trying to schedule things so that they won’t appear on the calendar while I’m gone. Mark it on your stamping calendar!

As you can see, this card uses a wide strip of the Friendly Hello Designer Series Paper, as well as a horizontal strip of cardstock. The sentiment rectangle is only 1/4″ longer on the long edge. With a card sketch, you can change things to suit your project. I chose to stick with the measurements that I gave to those attending the class, in part because I wanted to show everyone that you can use a smaller sentiment, just by adding something behind it.

I also decided to emboss the cardstock, instead of leaving it bare. If you’re a beginner, don’t feel that you have to do anything to this piece. You CAN just leave it until you have more tools, or feel comfortable taking it up a notch.

Both of the stamps are in the Friendly Hello stamp set. Pool Party and Black Memento ink co-ordinate with the pattern in the Designer Series Paper, so it was easy to create a colour scheme for the card. Don’t forget that you can only order the Friendly Hello bundle as a free item during Sale-a-bration, which ends on February 28th.

I do love the black Matte Dots in the Annual Catalogue. They’ve been around for a bit at this point, but they do nicely finish off projects with black elements in them. If you decide to recreate this design, add a piece of coordinating ribbon as well. It would look really good on the card.

The supply list for today’s project can be found at the bottom of the post. Don’t forget that Sale-a-bration ends on February 28th, and the Friendly Hello Bundle will only be available until then. If you need any stamping supplies, I would be very happy to be your demonstrator. Just click on the link below to go directly to my Online Store. Thanks for stopping by today for details on our Mystery Stamping Friendly Hello. I know that I’m posting a lot of projects created with this bundle, but it’s my favourite from this year’s Sale-a-bration. Friday’s card features a really different background, as well as the bird image from the set. Don’t forget that tomorrow night at 7:30 is live stamping on Facebook. It will be a nice break from what is promising to be a rather nasty weather day in Southern Ontario. Until the rain starts, enjoy your day, and I’ll be back on Friday with the bird card. Until then, Happy Stamping!
