Stampin’ Up! Friendly Flamingo Floral Cards

Today’s Friendly Flamingo Floral cards focus on the flowers in the stamp set, completely ignoring the flamingos. They’re pretty, and have a different look from everything that I have created with this set.

Both cards were made with Thick Whisper White cardstock for the base. I prefer this cardstock when making taller cards that open at the top because they don’t tend to ‘droop’. There’s nothing more frustrating than a card sliding down and until it is flat on the shelf.

The small flower in the Friendly Flamingo stamp set was stamped repeatedly on a scrap piece of white cardstock using Melon Mambo, Mango Melody and Balmy Blue ink. The coordinating Flamingo Dies have three small flower dies to help you cut these with fewer turns of the handle on your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

Three flowers were added to the first card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Basic Rhinestones are found in the centres, to give them a bit of bling. The Hello phrase is the perfect size and is found in the Here’s a Card stamp set.

Before adding the flowers to the second card, I used a ruler to mark out a small grid, with dots where I wanted the flowers to be. If you place them lightly on the card, even with the Dimensionals on the back, you can move them slightly to make sure they’re even. The phrase on this floral card is found in the Friendly Flamingo set.
