Stampin’ Up! All Squared Away Colour Block Card Idea

Happy Tuesday Stamping Friends! Today’s project is an All Squared Away Colour Block card. It has 6 colour blocks, and only one stamp from the All Squared Away Stamp set. The card is eyecatching, but does require a bit of planning.

Let’s start with the phrase in the centre, because it’s the perfect size for this style of card. It’s easy to make because you’re stamping the phrase with Versamark ink, and embossing it with white embossing powder. After that is complete, die cut with the appropriately sized Stitched Rectangle. Super easy.

Creating the striped panels was more trick, and began with selection of colours. There are 24 different 3/8″ strips of cardstock on this card. I began by trying out certain colour combinations under the LED lights in my stamp room. I thought that I had the right combination, but finalized them after checking them under daylight by a window.

After I confirmed the colours, and cut them into 3/8″ strips, I glued them to a piece of copy paper using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and let them dry. Cutting them into 1-1/2″ squares is easy at that point. Each was glued to a Basic White 1-5/8″ square. All squares on the card were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This card, along with 14 others, was made for a recent Demonstrator swap. My recommendation to you is that you make a batch of colour blocks at once because it’s a lot of work for one card, but not nearly as much for groups of 5. You simply cut 8-1/2″ strips of cardstock, glue them down, cut off the rough ends, and you’ll have 5 sets of squares.

The full supply list for this card can be found at the bottom of the post. If you need any stamping supplies, I would be very happy to be your demonstrator. Just click on the link below to go directly to my Online Store. Shop 24/7 in the comfort of your home, and ship it directly to you!
