Happy Wednesday! We’re going Back to Basics today with All Squared Away, and a pretty colour combination. In case you haven’t noticed, I’m loving this bundle.
Our layout today is easy to replicate, and the focal point can be one of many sizes and shapes. It is simple to remember because you’re adding Designer Series Paper to the top third of a card base, and something as a dividing line between the DSP and the rest of the card. A focal image or die cut sits on top of this dividing line on the left side.
This card has DSP on the top third, while the bottom is plain Basic White cardstock. You can change it up so that you have DSP on both the top and bottom or only on the bottom. Why not stamp part of the card base instead of adding DSP? Or, glue down the DSP and stamp the rest? This is a design that allows for a great deal of variety.
What can you use for the dividing line? Anything you want! Ribbon, twine, cardstock, a thin piece of DSP… the possibilities are endless.
My focal point is one of the stamped and die cut squares from the All Squared Away Bundle. I stamped the wavy image onto a piece of white cardstock, and cut it out with scissors. Using Multipurpose glue to add the die cut overtop is the easiest solution. Small flowers were also diecut from Flirty Flamingo cardstock and glued onto the main image. Adding Wink of Stella to the Blooms adds a bit of sparkle. And we all love sparkle!
Today’s colour scheme is lovely, and perfect for spring. Flirty Flamingo and Just Jade are a nice combination to work with, and I’m pleased that the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack has the Just Jade gingham ribbon. The phrase on the front is from the All Squared Away stamp set, stamped in Just Jade. Be sure to save today’s Colour Chip, or bookmark my Colour Chip resource page to view them all.
