Today’s card uses Winter Woods and Buffalo Check, two stamp sets from the Holiday Catalogue, to create a birthday card suitable for any of the men in your life. We have seen Winter Woods on a recent card, but this is the first Buffalo Check card that I have posted. I promise that it won’t be the last. The card was CASE’d from one stamped by Dena Albee, and I love the simplicity of the layout.
Buffalo Check is a big background stamp that you can use on all types of projects. Normally I get these stamps on wood blocks, but this time I opted for clear mount so that I could use it with my Stamparatus. I wanted to be able to re-stamp the image if I wasn’t happy with it. Not easy to do when the paper sticks to the stamp!
If you’re looking for a full coverage, perfect image, you’ll have a tough time achieving that. However, the nature of the stamp is that it’s supposed to be rustic. Look below to see what I mean about the coverage. If you’re good with that, you’re good to go.
I can’t say enough good things about Winter Woods. It is worth buying, just for the stamp that is on this card. Those naked trees are SO pretty. They grace many cards currently on my piano, so watch for more samples to pop up. Here’s a reminder of the stamps that are in the set, along with the coordinating framelits.
The sentiment on this card came from the Sunshine Sayings stamp set. It’s my goto Happy Birthday stamp for guy cards because it’s not frilly or swirly. Guys just don’t like that. (Or glitter!)
