Happy Monday! I have a wonderful Watercolour Tag card for you today, stamped with the ‘happy’ stamp from Biggest Wish. It’s a holiday here in Ontario, and the weather has been marginal this weekend (until today!), so I hope that you carved out some stamping time.
This is the first of two watercolour tag cards that I have to share with you. Both were made with watercolour pencils on watercolour paper. For this card, the pencil colours are Gorgeous Grape, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight. All are from the Brights colour family, and they look amazing together.
To get this look, you start by scribbling watercolour pencils across watercolour paper, adding water with Water Painters to erase the lines. When I add the water, I do each colour at a time, gently moving over the line between the colours to allow them to blend.
After all of the colour has been blended, set it aside to fully dry. You can dry the paper with a Heat Tool if you’re in a hurry. Pulling the largest of my Tailor Made Tags dies, out, move the tag around on your paper until you’re happy with what will appear on your card. I’m fortunate in that I’m able to cut two tags from this piece.
It’s tough to visualize exactly what they will look like when they are cut. I like to place them down on black cardstock or my foam mat, to get a sense of what they would look like on a project. The blue tag in the photo below is the one on tomorrow’s project.
Pull out your Stamparatus to stamp the word ‘happy’ repeatedly on the tag. Using the super-amazing stamp positioning tool ensures that the words are evenly spaced. And… if the ink isn’t dark enough, you can stamp it again.
Add a few Matte Black Dots, along with a bit of Gorgeous Grape 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon and black twine, and you’re good to go. You can send this card to someone for any occasion that is happy. Birthdays, graduations, celebrations, you name it.
