Stylized Birthday – Bokeh pt. 2

*originally posted on 10/25/16*

I really like this Stylized Birthday stamp.  It caught my attention when I first saw the catalogue back in May, and at $13, it’s a must have in every stamper’s collection.  The size makes a perfect focal point for cards, because no other image is needed – just a fun background.

There is more than one way to create a Bokeh background.  Last week’s card, the one that we created in our class, was done by rubbing colour across paper using sponge daubers.  This week’s card has a watercolour base, which results in a more muted look.   It takes longer to create, but the overall effect is stunning.  Adding the sentiment, framed by ovals diecut using the Layering Ovals Framelits, finishes the card perfectly.
