Stitched Nested Labels Dies Coming Soon!

Good afternoon! Today’s card is another one of the cards that I shared at OnStage last weekend. This one is different because it shows off the new Stitched Nested Labels Dies. Let’s have a look at the card, and the dies themselves.

The bird and sentiment were stamped with the Free as a Bird stamp set, available on June 4th. I never used to like colouring, but have learned to enjoy it along the way. Our Stampin’ Blends alcohol based markers make it easy to colour your stamped images. I used Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, and the Light Calypso Coral Blends on this bird.

As with my other OnStage cards, I pulled the colour scheme from the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper. Many demonstrators were excited to see the feathers on this piece. A bit of the new 3/8″ Scalloped Lace Trim was gathered and added to the back of the sentiment as well.

The real star of this card is the Stitched Nested Labels dies. There are 9 dies in the set. 8 are hexagons that have stitching on each side of the cutting line (you can have stitched die cuts, or stitched frames!), and the 9th is a straight line that only embosses. This die is shorter than the 5-1/2″ height of most cards, but it is relatively easy to line up. You can see the “line” in the photo above, which I meant to hide behind the image and forgot!

*Tip* Diecutting a piece of cardstock twice, moving the die before the second cut, allows you to make a smaller die cut that fits your stamped image/sentiment.

I found that my sentiment was a bit too small for the coordinating hexagon, so I made it smaller! You can see the extra stitching lines, but if you take care to make them even, they add something extra to the die cut.

Here’s a look at the dies themselves. Stampin’ Up! is transitioning to a new manufacturer for our dies, and all of the new ones are slightly thinner than the ones that we previously used. You may need to add a shim when using them with your die cutting machine, to make sure that all of your stitching cuts perfectly.

As mentioned before, none of the new items will be available to stampers until June 4th. However… demonstrators will be able to order a selection of new 2019-2010 Annual Catalogue products in May. It’s one of the perks of being a demonstrator! Interested? Click HERE for details, and I’m more than happy to chat about the opportunity.

I can’t add a supply list to this post, however, you can shop my Online Store for all of your other stamping needs, and don’t forget to add the April Host Code (HJ6UFBPV) to receive a Project Helper Tutorial at the end of the month as part of my Online Rewards Program. If your order is over $200, choose the Stampin’ Rewards instead, and I’ll still send the Tutorial!

Wendy's Little Inklings: April 2019 Host Code

Thanks for stopping by this afternoon! Make sure that you add the Stitched Nested Labels dies to your June wishlist. UPS is dropping a box onto my porch this afternoon that contains *new* products. If if can contain myself for more than 30 seconds, I’ll open it on camera. In the meantime, I’m madly trying to get my taxes to the accountant, which is pretty pathetic considering it’s April 23rd and they need to be finished by April 30th. Happy Stamping!
