Stampin’ Up! My Meadow Spring Cards

Hi Stampers! Today I have two My Meadow cards with a great spring theme to them. Of the three stamp sets that I’m showing you this week, this is the brightest one of the bunch. You can use the stamps to create some very pretty scenes. Perfect for this time of year

The first card is one that I stamped a couple of years ago. It was CASE’d (Copy and selectively edit) from a card created by Amy Koenders. Her original has a different colour scheme to it, and when planning out my version, I was creating a spring batch of cards to go into the mail. The base is Flirty Flamingo, and the scene uses Flirty Flamingo, Garden Green, Old Olive, Pool Party, Early Espresso & Soft Suede.

As with the cards from Monday, there are a number of products that are retiring on May 3rd including the My Meadow and Here’s a Card stamp sets. I’ll post these a bit farther down so that the items on both cards are listed.

*Tip* When cutting out a Stitched Rectangle, be sure the cardstock is 1/2″ larger on both sides. For example, if your rectangle is 4-1/4″ x 3″ (size on this card), cut the cardstock to 4-3/4″ x 3-1/2″ Why you ask? If you look at the top of the white rectangle on this card, you’ll see that the stitched line has pulled away. This is because I cut the cardstock too close to the edge and the grooves on the die cut a bit too deep. Cutting your cardstock a bit larger helps to avoid this.

The second card has been CASE’d from a card created by Brian King. As with the card above, I have changed it up slightly to make sure that everything on the card is current. Colours on this card are Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green, and Balmy Blue. The sentiment is from the Happy Thoughts set.

I want to point out the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper on this card. This pack is carrying over to the new Annual Catalogue, which is good because there are 24 sheets in this pack and all work extremely well as backgrounds.

Retiring products on these projects:

  • My Meadow stamp set
  • Happy Thoughts stamp set
  • Here’s a Card stamp set
  • Scripty 3D Embossing Folder
  • Stitched Shapes dies

At this point I am encouraging you to look through the Last Chance List, to ensure that you have everything that you love before it retires. This stamp set allows your creative side to shine through because you’re stamping and watching a scene develop before your eyes. It’s gratifying to see it come to life.

Thanks for stopping by today for a quick look at a couple of My Meadow spring themed cards. I’ll have 3 cards on tomorrow’s Facebook on the Fly Live demonstration – one for each stamp set. Speaking of FB, I did a quick video this morning on how to set up your new ink pads. It will help you get your new In Colors all ready to go once they arrive on your porch. My next blog post will pop up on Friday. As always, please e-mail if you have any questions. Happy Stamping!
