Stampin’ Up! Christmas to Remember Sketch Card

Happy Monday! Today’s project is a card created with a phrase from the Stampin’ Up! Christmas to Remember stamp set. This is one of the cards that I had on screen during last Monday’s Mystery Stamping night. It was made using the same card sketch as the Peaceful Deer card that I posted last week. Let’s have a look!

This is quite an easy card to make, because all you’re stamping is the phrase on the front. The colour combination is striking, and it doesn’t take much to bring the card together. Save the Colour Chip below, or bookmark my Colour Chip gallery to remember this combination for your future projects.

On this card, the colours were pulled directly from the Whimsy and Wonder 12″x12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper. The front side of this paper has pretty iridescent and pastel colours. The backside has darker colours that work well for backgrounds. Because I was working from a sketch, and this was the first card that I made, I stayed within the boundaries of the sketch.

Opting to add the sentiment to the circle in the centre, made it super easy to put this together because I only had to choose a ribbon to match.

Stampin’ Up!’s Christmas to Remember stamp set has a variety of different phrases, which can be used on the inside and outside of cards. There is a mix of fonts, to give it a current vibe, even though the cursive font has an older feel to it.

I rarely use my Stitched with Whimsy dies, and really need to rectify this because I loved them when they first appeared earlier this year. Using the largest die around the edge of the Bumblebee cardstock keeps the background from being too plain. The final step before assembling the card is to wrap a piece of ribbon around the Designer Series Paper. The Evening Evergreen 3/8″ Chevron Weave Ribbon has a nice weight to it, and looks great against the paper.
