Happy Thursday! Today’s card was created with the Christmas Cheer Dies and the no-longer-available Be Dazzled Specialty Paper. I’m posting this because I know that many of you have the paper, and could easily make this project. If you don’t, there is a suggestion below for a substitute that would work well. Let’s have a quick look at this no-stamping project.
The Christmas Cheer dies are part of the Words of Cheer bundle. Use them on their own, or with the stamps. Some of the words work well with the large dies, and one die matches the large image in the stamp set. On this project, I only used the large ‘cheer’ die. As you can see in the photo below, there are smaller letters that fit onto the big die. There are also smaller branches, holly etc. that can be added to the larger die, or used on their own.
For today’s card, I die cut the ‘cheer’ from the Be Dazzled Specialty paper, and didn’t add anything to it. This sparkly paper is a champagne colour, so three champagne rhinestones were added to offset the bling.
Petal Pink works so well with this super blingy (is that a word?) paper. I was pleased to see this when hunting for colours, because I had been looking for an opportunity to use my Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon. I find it too wide for most projects, so I cut it in half and tied the two pieces into a bow. A wider piece was wrapped around the Tasteful Textile embossed cardstock, and I glued the ribbon down with a glue dot.
Did you notice that there isn’t any stamping on this card? You can add a phrase to the inside directly onto the Petal Pink cardstock, or on a piece of Basic White cardstock that has been glued.
Layering the ‘cheer’ overtop isn’t difficult – just make sure that your Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals are hidden behind the letters. I cut mine in half, just to make sure. They’re tiny to work with, but you’re not worrying about whether you can see them. When doing this, don’t add any where the paper will layer on top of the bow because it’s thick enough that you don’t need any.
