Rainbow Glimmer Happiest of Birthdays Card Idea

Happy Thursday! It’s cloudy and very humid today, so I have a fun Rainbow Glimmer Paper Card made with the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set. I feel like I need a bit of pop this morning because my todo list is ridiculously long, and my time feels ridiculously short. There’s a part of me that wants Labour Day to roll around, so that all kids return to school. Routine has been missing in this house for oh, about 17 months now and I need it back. On that note…

Today’s project is very easy to make. Ridiculously easy and fast, so that you can make one right when you need one, in 15 minutes or less. Rainbow Glimmer Paper is an ombre style paper, with glitter that has been baked into the finish. It’s shimmery, without glitter falling off of the paper. If you have ever used some of our older glitter paper, you’ll remember that small pieces of glitter floated around your stamp room whenever you used it.

I did post one card earlier this month that used the blue/green end of one of the sheets. This card uses the piece from the other half. I die cut it to a smaller size, using one of the Stitched Rectangles. After cutting it down, I used white embossing powder and the large stamp from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set. It occurred to me this morning that I haven’t posted the actual stamp set here before. I have used it a lot recently, and am glad that it sits on my shelf because it’s a very versatile birthday stamp set.

It can be tough to get a perfectly embossed image on the Rainbow Glimmer Paper, because there is some texture to it. I wouldn’t worry about that because the shimmer of the paper holds your attention. Adding five of the Elegant Faceted Gems to the card adds another eyecatching element. Don’t you just love all types of these gems, epoxy dots, rhinestones etc? It’s so easy to finish a project with them.

After the paper has been cut and embossed, glue it onto a Basic Black card base. Don’t forget to add a piece of Basic White to the inside of the card before adding it to your card box. You don’t want to scurry around cutting and gluing something when you need the card! Ask me how I know…
