Pressed Petals Fun Fold Card

Hello stampers! Fun fold cards are a great way to ‘wow’ friends and family. Today’s card uses items from the Pressed Petals Suite, and the Path of Petals Bundle. I’m glad to be back at it after a truly exhausting week at the store. We did the inventory count overnight on Saturday, with lots of prep beforehand. I’m still tired – too old to stay up until 4am!!

My regular stampers know that this suite falls completely outside of my wheelhouse. I’m a clean and simple stamper, who enjoys stamps with a clean look. Vintage is not my style at all. So, why did I buy this suite? I like everything in it, but wasn’t sure of the stamp set. In the end I decided to take the plunge. I’m glad that I did because it will force me out of my box, and there are some lovely images in the Path of Petals stamp set.

Pressed Petals Fun Fold Card Details:

Although I did design this card, I found the original directions to cut and assemble this style of card on Patty Bennett’s blog. The colour combination is from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Paper.

This card has more than one surprise for its recipient. The main sentiment is on the front panel of the card. Open that panel up, and this is what you find:

Inside this fold is a small panel that has the inside sentiment of the card. It was stamped in Merry Merlot and Mossy Meadow. However, it’s not the only surprise in this card. Pull the lovely Rococo Rose Gathered Ribbon, open the card, and this is what you’ll find:

Inside is a space large enough to write a personal message to the card’s recipient. Some people may find it difficult to add a long message to the card. Having a large image in the corner, along with a short, heartfelt message, will fill the space.

The first thing that attracted me to this suite was the dies. There are only three in the set, but two are very intricate. The smaller of the two is on the front of this card. An oval die has been included in the set, which you can use to cut the sentiment to fit perfectly in the centre of this die cut. Here’s a close-up view of the die. Don’t you love the stitching?
