Everyone loves cake on their birthday, and today we’re enjoying a piece, courtesy of the Piece of Cake Bundle. This stamp set makes it easy to create cake cards for many different occasions, and the coordinating Cake Builder Punch means very little fussy cutting is needed.
There are six different cake styles in this stamp set, so although there are are birthday sentiments, you’re not limited to birthday cakes. I think that today’s design would work well for a wedding/baby shower, or even as a wedding card. Check out the entire bundle to see the different cake styles.
After I stamped the cake and stand, I coloured in the elements with Stampin’ Blends. When deciding on colours, I looked at the back of the pack of All My Love Designer Series Paper to see which colours were in the paper. None were blended, and all are listed in the Supply list at the bottom of the post.
*Tip* Pull the colours for the cake elements from the strip of Designer Series Paper on the front of the card. You can find them in the catalogue, OR on the cardboard at the back of the DSP pack.
Here’s a close-up of the cake and the individual colours. Most of the colouring was done with the “dark” markers, although I did use the “light” Balmy Blue for the small circles on the layers. I love the Lovely Lipstick ribbon that runs overtop of the DSP. It is a great weight, with gorgeous stitching on the edge.
I also added a sentiment and piece of All My Love DSP to the inside of the card to finish it off.
