Peaceful Deer Mystery Stamping Sketch Card

Happy Tuesday! Today’s Peaceful Deer card was made last night during Mystery Stamping on Facebook. It’s a very Christmasy card, that I’ll send out to one of my viewers as their card from me! However… It’s not going into the mail until December. It’s a *tad* early to start sending cards now. I just took down my Halloween decorations! The video can be found below, so let’s check out the project.

To begin, this Peaceful Deer card was created with a card sketch. The Mystery Stamping graphic below is that the only thing my Facebook followers had ahead of time. You’ll see it again later this week, because I’ll be posting another card created with this sketch. The card itself was made while I was live, with my viewers choosing the paper.

The Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper gave us the colour scheme (see Colour Chip below), as well as the patterned paper for the card. It’s overlooked by many because it’s in the Annual Catalogue instead of the Mini Catalogue, but it has that traditional colour combination.

I knew that the Peaceful Deer bundle had to be part of my card, because it’s new, and it fits the overall look with the card. As someone said last night, deer and trees just go together. And… the deer punch makes it easy to make a whole lot of deer in a very short period of time.

Finally, the deer was punched from the Gold Brushed Metallic cardstock, and I added a piece of Cherry Cobbler and Gold 1/2″ ribbon. Remember… if you add one metallic element, you need a second to bring it together.

Today’s video shows you the thought process that went behind our Peaceful Deer Mystery card, and explains why these elements are on the card. You’ll also see two other cards made from the same sketch.

Thanks for stopping by today! As I mentioned above, I’ll post another card created with this sketch a bit later this week. Tomorrow I’ll give you all of the info about the new Eden’s Garden Collection (I was going to post it today, but am concerned that I don’t have all of the correct info). Available today, it is a sneak peek into a bundle that will be available in the Jan-Jun Mini Catalogue.

Make sure that you add our next Mystery Stamping night to your calendar. I’ll post the details on Sunday, November 14, for our session at 7:30pm on Monday, September 15th. Will I use Peaceful Deer again? Who knows! See you then. If you have questions in the meantime, please add a comment or drop me a quick e-mail and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Happy Stamping!
