Delicate Embossing on a Needle & Thread Card

Good morning stampers! It’s Card Swap Thursday, and today I’m posting a pretty friendship card created with the Needle & Thread stamp set.

Wendy's Little Inklings: Needle & Thread Friendship Card with Delicate Embossing

This card was created by Jenn Tinline, as part of our colour swap awhile back. We were challenged to use Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, Basic Black and Very Vanilla on a card. Apparently it was uber-bright the day that I took this photo because I swear that is Bermuda Bay cardstock. It just looks a little more blue than it really is.

Jenn used two of the Needlepoint Elements Dies to emboss the Bermuda Bay cardstock. She also used a different Framelit from the set to cut/emboss the sentiment. The shape is the same as the Pretty Label punch, but the die actually adds stitching on it. The photo below really shows the embossed stitching on this card.

Isn’t that pretty? I loved stitched dies because they add this “wow” factor to your project, with no additional effort. I freely admit that I frequently pull this style of die from my collection o’ dies, along with my basic Layering Circles, Squares, and Ovals. A quick note about the butterflies – they are in the Butterfly Beauty die pack.

Don’t Forget…

My Back to Basics Training Course began this week. Each week in the 12 week course we will cover a different “basic” topic. Today we’re continuing to talk ink, and I’ll be going live tonight to show you how to properly ink up an ink pad and Stampin’ Spot. I’ll also demonstrate how to re-ink a dry Stampin’ Write Marker! To watch this video, you need to be a member of the private Back to Basics Facebook Group. If you would like to be included in that group, head over to my Wendy’s Little Inklings Facebook page. The group is pinned to the top – just click to join and I’ll add you in!

Finally, our OnStage Demonstrator event takes place in a week and a half. I’m presenting a new product suite at the event, and have some gorgeous projects put together to share. As soon as OnStage is over, I’ll be posting exclusive projects to my Facebook page that won’t be available anywhere else until later in the month. ‘Like’ the page, see the projects, and make sure you tell your stamping friends!

Thanks for stopping by today! The Needle & Thread Bundle, and the rest of the Needlepoint Nook suite have some lovely elements that are perfect for cards and other projects. If you have questions about this project, or anything else, e-mail me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Happy stamping!
