Today’s project is a fabulous Mountain Air birthday card. It has a very masculine feel to it, and it’s a great card for anyone that loves the outdoors.
Mountain Air, and the Majestic Mountain Dies, were originally released in last year’s Occasions Catalogue. This card is based on one of the samples found in the catalogue. It is a little more difficult to create than the one that I posted on Monday, but it just requires more time.
There is stamping, die cutting, and embossing on this card. The trees were stamped and die cut using the Majestic Mountain Dies. Seven different colours of ink were used for the trees, ranging from Shaded Spruce through Balmy Blue. You can pick and choose the colours that you would like. My best advice is to stamp a few, cut them out, and then play mix and match.
The background wood paper is from the In Good Taste Designer Series Pack. There are 24 different patterns of wood, stone, tile and other textures in this pack. Pull a few and try them against your base cardstock and trees to find a combination that you’re pleased with.
If you don’t have the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set, add this one to your ‘must have’ list. There are different fonts, messages and styles to choose from, making each birthday card a bit different. I really hope that it doesn’t retire in early May, because it is a go-to stamp set for me.
