Hi Stampers! Today’s Gatefold card features the Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP and the Mosaic 3D Embossing folder. Let’s have a look!
Diana Langman created this pretty birthday card. The intricate rose on the front wasn’t stamped. It is on one of the designs in the Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP pack. Some of the images in this pack have embossing embedded the paper, along with a shiny sheen on the paper face.
The image was fussy cut by Diana, and then layered on top of the card base and embossed cardstock. I like the look of the embossing that you can create with the Mosaic 3D embossing folder. It is one of the new 3D folders, which is thinner than the old ones.
*Tip* Use the “blue” 3D Embossing Folder Plate with the new 3D folders to get the results that you want. You can also add shims under your old plate, but there will be a trial/error period until you figure out the correct recipe.
The opening of a gatefold card is at the front of the card. It can be difficult for these to lay flat, so be sure to use your Bone Folder on the folds. You also want to make sure that you don’t glue your card shut! Diana only added adhesive under one half of the Stitched Nested Label.
A couple of final notes… the sentiment is in the Magnolia Blooms stamp set. You can find this in the Experience Creativity brochure. It is designed for new stampers, and coordinates with the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set. Once stamped, it was embossed with the Subtles embossing folder.
