This week I am highlighting the soon-to-be-retiring 2019-2021 In Colours. Today’s project features 3 flamingos, my all time favourite birds. Each has been die cut from Rococo Rose cardstock, using the large flamingo die.
Each of the flamingo wings are slightly different. When the dies were first released in January, I sat down one night to create different combinations of cardstock and backgrounds. A photo of these combinations will be posted later this week in my Flamingo Friday post. I wasn’t sure about Rococo Rose as a base, but it looks good with Blushing Bride and the Seaside Spray DSP background.
One wing has Blushing Bride as an underlying layer, one has black, and the middle one is Rococo Rose. The difference is the top wing has been sponged with Rococo Rose ink.
A quick note about the Many Mates ‘thank you sentiment. It was stamped in black Memento ink, and then punched with the Banners Layer Pick a Punch. The white layer is 3/4″ wide, while the black is 7/8″ wide. To accurately punch this width, cut a longer piece of cardstock and carefully slide it in. It’s easy to then to look and see that it is equally placed between the 1″ guidelines. One Black Matte dot has been added to finished it off.
If you place an order in March, you will receive a Flamingo card as a thank you for your purchase. I have many fun ones hanging out in my official flamingo box of cards, and would like nothing more than to share them with you!
