Stampin’ Up! Magenta Madness Flamingo Friday

Today I have a bright, yet subdued, Magenta Madness Flamingo Friday card. Bright because the flamingo was die cut from Magenta Madness cardstock. Subdued because the flamingo has been attached to black cardstock. Let’s have a closer look.

A black and pink flamingo card.

If you look back at last week’s Flamingo Friday post, you’ll see the various pieces of my marathon flamingo creation session. I was mixing and matching colours to create colour combinations that work well with the birds. However, I think that only black works with Magenta Madness. The colour is really bright!

To make this card, I used the die that makes plant stems, cut 5 of them, and glued them to a smaller piece of Basic Black cardstock. The card itself is 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ and the additional black piece on the front is 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″. The fronds were glued to that piece.

Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon has been folded in half, and wrapped around the top piece of cardstock. Originally I was looking at using just one piece, but I like the look of thinner ribbon because of the size of the card. Rather than cutting the ribbon in half, worrying that the cut line wasn’t even, I went with folded ribbon instead. 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots were added for a bit of extra bling.

Retiring items on this card:

  • Flamingo Dies (154313)
  • 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots (152480)
  • 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon (146912)

At this point I am encouraging you to look through the Last Chance List, to ensure that you have everything that you love before it retires. You KNOW that I’m sad about the retirement of the Friendly Flamingo Bundle. That doesn’t mean you won’t see them again though. I likely won’t continue with Flamingo Friday blog posts, but they will still pop up on my Facebook page. Another demonstrator sent me a photo from Homesense of flamingo plates for the patio. I mentioned this to my husband who said something to the effect of ‘absolutely not’! Anyhoo…

Thanks for stopping by today! The Magenta Madness Flamingo card is going into my flamingo card box (yes, I have one) to be sent out another day. Next week I am featuring a stamp set that I just bought, after looking at it for months. It’s on the Last Chance List, so I want to crack it open before it retires. As always, please e-mail if you have any questions. Happy Stamping!
