Good morning stampers! Today’s card was inspired by a Lovely as a Tree card found in the 2006-2007 Annual Catalogue. It was one of the projects from yesterday’s Farewell to Lovely as a Tree class. I still find it a bit mind-boggling that this stamp set, current since 2001, is disappearing on June 4th.
It’s a simple card in terms of design, but the design is one that can easily be adapted for today’s stamps, paper and ink. Here’s the original:
Our colour families have changed twice since this card was published. The colours on the new card are Garden Green, Crushed Curry and Early Espresso. Completely different from those featured above!
The tree was coloured with Stampin’ Write markers. I haven’t used these on my stamps in ages, and yet all the stamps on all three of yesterday’s cards were coloured with markers. They are always a good investment, and an excellent item to have in your stamping toolbox.
A couple of other changes found in the new card include the replacement of the Designer Series Paper with cardstock embossed with the Pinewood Planks folder, and a different location for the sentiment. Here’s an up close look at the card:
