Good morning stampers! Today’s kangaroo card features an adorable Roo and a bunch of balloons! Isn’t it cute? I just love the images in the Animal Outing stamp set. Keep reading to see why!
The Animal Outing stamp set includes a kangaroo, rhino, giraffe and a frog on a branch. Today’s card was CASE’d from Nicole Belesimo’s design, but I wanted to use some new products, so I changed her design up a bit.
The kangaroo was stamped and coloured with Stampin’ Blends. It’s an easy image to colour because the shading on the stamp shows you where to add the darker colour. For those of us that are stampers but not artists, this makes colouring an easy process.
*Tip* Colour your image with the light colour, then start to add the dark colour. You’ll begin to see slight blurring of the lines as the colour mixes all on its own. Start to add more of the light colour, and blend the two together.
One of my favourite new stamp sets is Itty Bitty Birthdays. The phrases are a really good size for cards, and some of them work for one than one occasion.
Nicole’s original design had balloons that were punched from older Designer Series Paper. Because we’re getting closer to spring (woo!), and this card can be used for birthdays or baby showers, I opted to use some of the pretty Gingham Gala DSP.
The Gingham Gala paper has larger checks on one side, and smaller checks on the other. When punching the balloons, I deliberately made sure that the checks were straight from the bottom to the top of the balloons. Adding strings with a ruler and a Basic Black Stampin’ Write marker is super easy.
