Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts Case the Catalogue Monday

Happy Monday! This week’s Inspired Thoughts case the catalogue card can be found on page 52 of the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue. When I first saw this bundle in early April, I knew that I had to have it. I’m a sucker for trees and the big die cut image in the bundle is wonderful. Let’s have a look at today’s project.

Unlike a lot of bundles, the Inspired Thoughts bundle has a full set of images in its dies, and none in the stamp set. Let’s start with the stamps, because they are a set that I think you will want in your collection. The font is current, yet reminiscent of the 20th century Art Deco period.

I hand cut the sentiment on this card, after I stamped it with Misty Moonlight ink. The stamp set has 11 rubber cling stamps, and it would be tough to stamp on such a skinny piece of cardstock.

This colour combination works so well together on this card. Don’t forget that I have added a category specifically for Colour Chips. This will help you put together a card with a minimal amount of agony over the colours to use.

The main die in the Inspiring Canopy Die set is large, but can be but apart with a bit of patience. You can see this on the edge of the tree on the right. Friday’s project has a single tree on it, so you’ll be able to see how that looks when cut apart from the others. There are 4 different dies that you can use for the leaves. While there are only two on this card, this week’s Facebook Live project has a whole bunch of them! This is what the Inspiring Canopy die cuts look like:

I have never before created a background using a piece of cardstock as a template, and a sponge to add the ink. It’s super easy to create this background with a Blending Brush and a wavy piece of cardstock. There is a single die in the set that you can use to create hills on your project. Cut a piece that is wider than your card, and then begin at the bottom of the cardstock. Add some colour at the top of the piece (don’t go overboard!) and then move it up a bit, adding colour above the die cut again. Keep going until you have coloured the entire piece.

One last note about the leaves on this card. They were die cut, and then coloured with the Dark So Saffron Stampin’ Blend. Just a bit where the half cuts are, and it brightens them up a bit.

The Inspired Thoughts Bundle is new to the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue, and if you buy both the dies and stamps as the bundle, you will save 10%.
