Our Watercolour Pencils are very popular with customers, and it has been a lot of fun colouring images, with different ways of blending the colouring. I have four different examples below of ways that you can colour our Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper, each resulting in a slightly different effect.
The first card has a spotlighted image that has been coloured with watercolour pencils, and then blended with a Wink of Stella pen. You can’t really see the shimmer on the card, but I promise you that it’s there. I wasn’t on the ball enough to take a photo of the shimmery piece (I’ll do that the next time I use this technique), but to do this, you simply use your Wink of Stella the same way you would use a Blender Pen. It really looks fabulous.
Next up is a card coloured with watercolour pencils and an Aquapainter. You do need to be a bit careful that you don’t add too much water to your colouring so that your paper retains its integrity. I blended these images with very, very little water.
Next up is an image that was coloured with Stampin’ Write markers. Very bold, very striking, and another way to colour this style of paper.
Finally, this image has just been coloured with the pencils, with no blending at all. Very nice coverage, and if I wanted to, I could quickly go back with a Blender pen to soften the look – but it’s not required.
I found this spotlighted card online (and TOTALLY forgot to write down the original creator), and thought that it would be perfect to spotlight this paper and all that you can do with it. Easy colouring, and you don’t need to worry about the time it would take to colour an entire card, because you’re only colouring a small fraction of it.
