Happy Holidays Card with Words of Cheer

Happy Monday! Today’s project is a Happy Holidays card, created with the Words of Cheer Bundle. It has a very non-traditional colour combination, which some will love, and others will not. And that’s okay. Let’s have a closer look at today’s card.

The base of this card is Gray Granite cardstock, with a separate piece that has been stamped and attached. To create this card, I combined two of my favourite 2021 holiday stamps and dies. The Festive Foliage background stamp was stamped in Gray Granite, for a monochromatic look.

Most of my Words of Cheer projects are still on my dining room table. I’m trying to spread them out, interspersing them with other cards and 3D items. I generally create a bunch of projects when I have a stamp set or bundle on the table. If creativity strikes, I run with it! So, you’ll see it again – on very different styles of cards. I really appreciate that the dies match the stamps, so that can make a card for the holidays, based on who’s receiving it.

Here’s the Colour Chip for today’s Happy Holidays card. Don’t forget that you can always find inspiration in my Colour Chip gallery. Each Chip is posted there, linked to the blog post that has the finished project.

Have you looked closely at the dies in the Christmas Cheer Die set? Both the ‘happy’ and the ‘cheer’ images are two dies that layer on top of each other. There are additional images that you can cut to embellish your layers. You’ll see these on some of my other upcoming projects. Keep an eye out for them.

I was going for a clean look on this card, so I just left the main die cut as is. Layering it onto piece of Basic White cardstock that has been die cut with a Tasteful Labels die cut, embossed with the Bark 3D embossing folder.

The last piece of the card, that ties it all together, is the sumptuous Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon. It is a lovely width, with just the right amount of shimmer. I added a few rhinestones to add to the shimmer.
