Good afternoon! It’s Flamingo Friday, so today’s card was created with the Friendly Flamingo Bundle, currently available in the January-June Mini Catalogue.
Isn’t he cute? This card was inspired by a project created by Kim Quade. It’s quite easy to make because the flamingo from the Friendly Flamingo stamp set was stamped only once onto white cardstock and die cut. Let’s have a closer look at this majestic bird.
The images in this stamp set are DistINKtive, so they have the colour variation and details etched right into the stamp. Other stamp sets out there require 2 or 3-step stamping to achieve this type of image. As Stampin’ Up!’s does not, it’s a simple one step stamp. Once it is on your cardstock, just die cut the image with the large flamingo die in the bundle. Super easy.
Don’t you love the faux stitching along the edge? This was easily done with the largest die in the new Stitched with Whimsy Dies. Watch for more projects that use these dies because I had a LOT of fun using them this week. The layer of cardstock immediately below the white was also embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D folder. It’s my new favourite!
Finally, you may be wondering about the pearls because we definitely do not have Flirty Flamingo coloured pearls in the catalogue. I just added some colour using my Stampin’ Blend. It adds that pop the card needs.
